Naples. A 48-year-old man from the province of Naples was reported by the State Police for aggravated fraud after selling online a car that had been seized for confiscation. The man, who was in charge of the vehicle, allegedly used a well-known buying and selling site to complete the transaction.
The episode dates back to September 5th, when the police officers Police Police of Naples, during a check in Ottaviano, discovered that the vehicle, driven by an unaware driver, was already under administrative seizure. Neither the driver nor the owner had been informed of the measure, and the vehicle had previously been entrusted to a company for storage.
The investigations conducted by the Highway Patrol revealed that the custodian, through artifice, had managed to sell the car, making a profit of 2.400 euros. In light of the evidence collected, the 48-year-old was reported by the authorities.
The operation highlights the importance of controls and supervision of practices for the custody of seized assets, to prevent fraud incidents such as the one brought to light by the agents.
