Naples. An eight-year-old girl suffered a facial injury and a black eye, the victim of an alleged act of bullying. The little girl, a student at the "Vincenzo Russo" elementary school of the Russo-Montale Institute, in the Stella neighborhood of Naples, was reportedly pushed against a door by two classmates.
The incident, which took place in the courtroom, was reported by the girl's mother, who also asked for help from the Green-Side Alliance MP, Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
"My daughter is being bullied, and the school isn't taking action," the woman said. "I've reported the incident several times, but no action has been taken. Now I'm keeping her home out of fear, after taking her to the emergency room."
The mother reports a tense atmosphere and verbal and physical aggression towards her daughter, situations which, she claims, were ignored by the school management.

Borrelli: "Schools must combat bullying, not hide violence."
MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli announced his intention to contact the institute's management to clarify the situation. "We want to verify whether the mother's complaints were heard and whether adequate checks were carried out. It is necessary to summon the parents of the girls involved to understand the circumstances and prevent further incidents."
Borrelli emphasized the urgency of a more decisive commitment to combating bullying in schools. "This scourge continues to be underestimated, even though schools should be the first line of defense against violence and a safe place for all children."
The episode sparked outrage among parents in the neighborhood and fueled debate about the need to adopt more effective strategies to prevent and combat bullying and violence among young people.

It is a very sad fact what happened to this little girl. I hope that the school takes serious measures to stop bullying and protect all children. Bullying should not be swept under the carpet.
