The intensified checks by the State Police in Naples and the province continue, even during the Christmas period. The Police Headquarters has implemented an extraordinary plan to combat illegal possession of weapons, drug trafficking and other forms of widespread illegality. In the last 24 hours, seven people have been arrested as part of these operations.

The officers of the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station stopped a 38-year-old from Afragola and a 51-year-old from Naples, both already known to the police. The first was stopped in a building in Vico Longo while trying to escape. He had 11 packages of cocaine and 45 euros on him.

In his home, the police found another 57 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of marijuana, precision scales and material for packaging drugs. The 51-year-old, however, was caught red-handed while selling drugs: the officers found him in possession of 59 packages of cocaine.
In the afternoon, the Hawks of the Flying Squad arrested three people. Two young people, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old from Marano di Napoli, were found in possession of hashish, cocaine and marijuana during a check near a box that served as a drug depot.
Inside, over 400 grams of narcotics and packaging equipment were seized. A 37-year-old, however, was arrested for evasion while he was on the street without authorization in Corso Arnaldo Lucci.
Two young men stopped on a stolen scooter
Finally, two young people were arrested for resisting a public official and causing personal injury. A 17-year-old Neapolitan and an 18-year-old of Bulgarian origin, riding a stolen scooters, attempted to escape police checks. Both were stopped after foot chases and brief scuffles.
