Naples. In view of the Christmas holidays, a period in which unfortunately there is an intensification of extortion requests towards economic operators, a group of merchants from Chiaiano has decided to raise their heads and say enough to extortion and usury.
With the support of the FAI (Federation of Italian Anti-Racketeering and Anti-Usury Associations), the Anti-Racketeering Association of Chiaiano was born, an organisation determined to protect freedom of enterprise and to firmly oppose any form of criminal intimidation.
The establishment of this association represents an act of courage and solidarity, inspired by the positive experience of other traders in different neighborhoods of the city, who have found in cooperation the strength to fight the phenomenon of extortion.
The presence of the Police and Institutions further strengthens this collective commitment, demonstrating that the State is on the side of those who choose not to give in and to fight for a future free from organized crime.
An Appeal to Colleagues
The Anti-racket Association of Chiaiano launches an appeal to all economic operators in the area: "If you decide not to give in to extortion and defend your business with dignity, know that you are not alone.

Dear Colleague,
As the Christmas holidays approach, the extortion racket phenomenon intensifies.
The demand for protection money on the honest work of merchants, together with the suffocating usury of usury, manifests itself in the most varied and imaginative forms and assumes, in this period, a particular aggressiveness.
Organized crime, which runs this heinous crime, certainly cannot be fought alone.
In solitude, one risks giving in and entering an increasingly oppressive hellish trap from which one cannot escape without courage.
Some merchants from Chiaiano, with the help of FAI, the “Federation of Italian Anti-Racketeering and Anti-Usury Associations”, have formed an association, following the example of other colleagues in various neighborhoods of the city, to jointly fight against the extortion gangs that blackmail economic operators.
The Anti-Racket Association of Chiaiano wants to make its presence visible on the territory, without any fear, determined to defend the freedom of enterprise and reject any request for protection money.
The presence of the Police and Institutions, which accompany us, testify to the firm commitment of the State in this difficult fight.
