The Campania capital is preparing for a significant strengthening of urban security with the arrival of 500 new law enforcement officers. Naples is planning a systematic expansion of its video surveillance network, with new devices ready to be installed in the city's squares and streets. These measures are part of a broader strategy to effectively combat crime and illegal activity in the area.
Enhanced security in Naples
In conjunction with the Christmas holidays and the beginning of the Jubilee Year, Prefect Michele di Bari announced a reinforced security plan, including a greater deployment of military forces and the implementation of the Safe Roads program already active with fixed surveillance posts in strategic areas such as Piazza Dante and Piazza Mercato. These initiatives were also made necessary in view of the important events that will see the participation of authorities such as the Royal Family of Spain and the President of the Italian Republic.
Growing tourism and preparations for the reception
During the holidays, Naples expects the arrival of approximately 380 tourists, an invasion of visitors that does not scare local institutions. The past few months have already seen significant numbers of tourists, and the city has proven to be ready and well-organized. To better manage the influx, municipal authorities are extending the hours of public transport services on peak days. Effective collaboration between local authorities and police forces aims to ensure that the increase in visitors does not compromise safety, while maintaining a welcoming and pleasant environment for all.
