The State Police has once again brought the magic of Christmas to the little patients of Rome's hospitals. Yesterday morning, at the Policlinico Umberto 1° Hospital in Rome, the NOCS (Central Security Operations Unit) police officers, dressed as Santa Claus, lowered themselves from the roof of the Hospital, causing amazement among the children, adults and medical staff present.
Gifts and smiles for children
The officers then visited the wards, handing out toys, crayons, and albums to make their hospital stay more enjoyable. At the Tor Vergata Polyclinic, Santa Claus, accompanied by Postal Police officers, surprised patients with gifts designed to brighten their Christmas, including soft stuffed animals and chocolate. The latest Geronimo Stilton book, "On the Trail of the Hacker," was also distributed, thanks to a collaboration between the Geronimo Stilton Foundation, the State Police, and Google. The book was available in waiting rooms to promote responsible use of social media.
Solidarity initiatives
At the Regina Elena Cancer Institute and the San Gallicano Dermatological Institute, the police also brought joy by delivering beauty products to the hospitalized women.
For the State Police, Christmas represents not only a commitment to ensuring safety during the holidays, but also an important opportunity to offer support through solidarity initiatives.

It's nice to see the police do things for children in hospitals, but sometimes I wonder if this is just a way to get publicity. The gifts are important but the health and well-being of the little ones is the most important thing.
