The famous Greek soprano Niki Lada will perform at the Domus Ars, in via Santa Chiara 10, in Naples. Music lovers will have the opportunity to attend two concerts, scheduled for Thursday 12 and Friday 13 December at 19 pm.
Admission is free, allowing the public to enjoy the performance without restrictions. The event is produced by the Quidra association and the Il Canto di Virgilio Foundation.
A project between music and experimentation
The initiative is part of the "La voce contemporanea" project, conceived by composer and musician Rosalba Quindici and part of the third edition of "MTR" (Music – Theatre – Research). The program explores the vocal repertoire, with and without electronics, spanning sixty years, highlighting Lada's ability to interpret complex expressive levels, also thanks to the use of unusual instruments such as the conch shell and crotales.
The works in the lineup
The concerts will feature significant works from the contemporary repertoire. They will begin with Luciano Berio's "Sequenza" (1965) and Georges Aperghis's "Récitations" (1977–78), both works of musical dramaturgy. This will be followed by Nicolas Tzortzis's "Immobilités" (2019) and Stefano Alessandretti's "Lamento di Arianna" (2012), compositions that range from the analysis of emotional immobility to the human condition seen through the prism of pain.
Preview compositions
The program will feature exclusive premieres of compositions, including "Skin V" by Vito Palumbo and "Cantus errans" by Rosalba Quindici. The first work combines texts and music from various eras and cultures, while the second explores the theme of migrants, alternating voice and electronic sounds. Niki Lada, through an intense performance, will convey stories of life and pain, remembering figures touched by the tragedies of migration.

The event with Niki Lada looks very interesting, but I don't know if I can go. The concerts are Thursday and Friday, but I already have commitments. I hope there will be more similar events in the future so I can attend.
