The Metropolitan Police Corps of Naples, in collaboration with the volunteers of the LIPU, conducted an operation in Acerra that led to the seizure of weapons, ammunition and the referral to the Judicial Authorities of three poachers.
During the operation, the following were seized: three rifles, 984 cartridges, a prohibited acoustic decoy, two dead thrushes, a dead lark and a wounded starling.

The poachers were reported for several crimes, including hunting protected species and using prohibited electro-acoustic decoys.

“We express great satisfaction for yet another anti-poaching operation”, commented the deputy of the Green Left Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli and the territorial manager of the Greens Rosario Visone, “The monitoring, control and prevention activities of the Authorities and associations such as Lipu are once again proving to be fundamental for safeguarding wildlife, for which we extend our compliments to them.
But to eradicate the phenomenon, more stringent measures are needed against poachers, even if this move does not seem to be part of the Government's plans."
