Carried out by the Carabinieri of the ROS and the Finance Police of the Provincial Command of Caserta, a confiscation of company shares, business assets, real estate and financial resources was ordered against the Caserta entrepreneur Paolo Siciliano,
The provision was issued by the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere – Prevention Measures Section, on the proposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples – District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
The action is the result of asset investigations conducted by the Carabinieri Special Operations Group and the Marcianise Guardia di Finanza Company, on behalf of the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
The investigations involved an entrepreneur believed to be close to the Belforte clan and the Casalesi clan – Zagaria Group, leading to the acquisition of significant evidence of his social dangerousness and the illicit origin of his business assets.
The latter includes eight companies active in the province of Caserta, operating in the real estate, construction and large-scale distribution sectors, with a chain of supermarkets of the group Pelican consisting of 21 points of sale.
The confiscation order concerned real estate and movable assets with a total value of approximately 60 million euros, already seized in 2023, to which are added further assets, including real estate, company shares and financial assets, for an estimated value of approximately 1 million euros. The latter were identified thanks to further economic-patrimonial investigations.
