The fight against the phenomenon of illegal parking attendants in Naples continues unabated. In an operation coordinated by the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, chaired by Prefect Michele di Bari, the Local Police Command, together with the State Police, the Carabinieri and the auxiliaries of the ANM (Azienda Napoletana Mobilità), conducted an intense control activity between 25 and 28 November, involving several critical areas of the city.
The most heavily monitored areas were Piazza Bisignano and the surrounding streets, Via delle Repubbliche Marinare, Via Santa Brigida and Via della Villa Romana. Other monitored areas included Via Riccardo Filangieri di Candida Gonzaga, Via Antonino Pio near Ponte Cumana, Via Cornelia dei Gracchi, Via Nerva, and the areas surrounding the Cardarelli, Santobono, Monaldi and Cotugno hospitals. Tight controls were also carried out near the Central FS Station, Corso Meridionale, Corso Lucci and Via Ferraris.
During the operations, 15 people caught carrying out illegal parking activities were fined, while another 13 were reported for repeat offenders. Overall, 58 people were checked, including 21 with criminal records, as well as 56 vehicles, with 24 towings. The contribution of the ANM auxiliaries was also significant, as they found 984 violations in the paid areas marked by blue stripes.
In parallel, between 23 and 29 November, checks in the metropolitan area of Napoli led to the issuing of 4.618 reports for violations of the Highway Code, the removal of 54 abandoned vehicles and the seizure of 292 vehicles, of which 22 were released due to the timely intervention of the owners.
