The Eiffel Tower was evacuated due to a technical problem with one of its elevators. According to Le Figaro, the incident was caused by a short circuit between the twelfth and thirteenth levels of the famous Parisian monument.
The incident occurred this morning, around 10:50 a.m., when visitors were escorted to the exit and accompanied by the sound of the fire alarm. The Tower is scheduled to reopen today, but service will be limited to the twelfth floor.
