The Duo Sòria performance, featuring Ciro Coticelli on percussion, kicks off at the Church of Santa Teresa on Via Santa Teresa in Piano di Sorrento. The event will take place on Thursday, December 19th, starting at 19:30 PM. Admission is free.
The Sòria Duo, composed of artists Peppe Pacelli and Mariarosaria Pellino – classical guitar and vocals respectively – with the participation of Ciro Coticelli on percussion, will give a suggestive concert of the Neapolitan Christmas tradition, with the original and eloquent title "Sori'a e' Natale".
The long-awaited show created by the two artists, thanks to the enchanting spaces of the Church of Santa Teresa, will thrill the audience by proposing ancient songs with the help of drums and also by inserting refined melodies of modern times. All accompanied by fascinating stories in the Neapolitan language, the classic "cunti" with fairy-tale tones.
The refined sound of Peppe Pacelli's guitar, the melodious voice of the excellent interpreter Mariarosaria Pellino and the emotional percussions of Ciro Coticelli will accompany the audience through a real cultural journey, divided into three acts rich in classic sounds and stories interpreted live.
The Cuntato Christmas Concert, as the Duo Sòria likes to call it, will guarantee just over an hour of entertainment in which the audience, immersed in magical atmospheres, will be reached by the beneficial caress of the Christmas spirit.
The ancient and festive “Nascette 'lu Messia”, the Pastoral written by S. Alfonso Maria De Liguori in 1754 – “Quanno nascette Ninno”, the poem by S. Di Giacomo from 1887, later set to music by Enrico De Leva “A Novena”, among the classical pieces that will enliven the evening.
The concert is based on pieces that are milestones of the Christmas tradition, from archaic drum songs to more elaborate melodies of modern times, all introduced or rather accompanied by evocative stories.

“Pucundria” turns its gaze to a reality that holds stories steeped in humanity. It does so in a farsighted and serene way, overcoming stereotypes and prejudices. The protagonists of the story are the women's prison of Pozzuoli and the lives of Teresa and Anna, respectively a prison officer and a prisoner convicted of murder.
Two women in different positions, but united by a painful experience that brings them closer and unites them in a sincere friendship. Their relationship, emotional and engaging, invites us to reflect on important issues that include the very current one of gender violence and the precarious conditions in which many Italian prisons find themselves.
Rosi Selo, with her well-known sensitivity, and the effectiveness of an expert and delicate pen, lays bare the intimate essence of a complicated world. The reading public will perceive the painful melancholy, as well as the silent sensations arising from her noble heart.

The article about Duo Sòria is interesting, but there are some things I didn't quite understand. Is the date correct? I read that it will be in December, I hope I'm not wrong. Anyway, I would like to listen to the ancient songs.
