A 43-year-old Georgian woman was seriously injured after being struck by a metal plate that fell from a balcony in Piazza Garibaldi, in the heart of Naples. The incident, which occurred late this morning, caused widespread alarm among passersby.

The victim was rescued by 118 paramedics and rushed to Cardarelli Hospital with a red code, where she remains hospitalized with a guarded prognosis.

Naples local police officers responded to the scene, securing the area and launching an investigation to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident.

Investigators from the San Lorenzo Task Force immediately began identifying those responsible. They gathered statements from residents and business owners in the building from which the plate fell. An eyewitness provided crucial information, describing a person who had been on the balcony shortly before the incident.

Thanks to the images from the video surveillance cameras in the area, the agents are trying to reconstruct the sequence of events precisely. At the moment, the investigations seem to be directed towards a woman of Ukrainian nationality, whose position is being examined by the competent authorities.
