Full of meaningful reflections and emotional moments, the final day of the 2024 edition of the Mimmo Ferrara Journalism Award was held this morning in the splendid premises of the Academy of Archaeology, Letters and Fine Arts of Naples.
The young journalist of the Campania television station Canale21 Davide Uccella was awarded for his video report on the experience of Artificial Intelligence applied by ASL Napoli 3 sud for the reduction of waiting lists. The Mimmo Ferrara Award also went to the journalist Alessandra Martino for her video report broadcast by Canale8 and which told the story of a very young transplant recipient.
Lifetime Achievement Award to Antonio Sasso, a long-time historical name of Roma, of which he is editorial director.
Special mention from the jury to the journalist Cristina Liguori. New to this edition is the Casagit Award, which was given to the journalist Valentina Panetta of the Messaggero.
The journalists' mutual aid fund, of which Mimmo Ferrara was also president, was the subject of an interesting round table entitled "Care and solidarity between public and private health care. Casagit, a bet that has continued for 50 years", introduced and coordinated by Arturo De Vivo, President of the Academy of Archaeology, Letters and Fine Arts, with the participation of the Federician professors Francesco Bifulco and Marco Musella; the Casagit President Gianfranco Giuliani and Bruno Zuccarelli, President of the Order of Surgeons and Dentists.
