Next Tuesday, December 3, at 11:30, at the University of Naples Suor Orsola Benincasa, there will be a presentation of the book “Armenian Letters – Journey to Yerevan between Art and Diplomacy”, written by Franz Cerami and Vincenzo Del Monaco. The event will take place at the Aula Leopardi of the Department of Humanities.
The volume is structured as an epistolary, a double autobiography that not only narrates a journey but invites reflection on the power of art and cultural diplomacy. Armenia represents the common thread, uniting art and diplomacy thanks to the friendship between the authors.
Program
After the greetings of the rector Lucio D'Alessandro, there will be speakers Paola Villani, director of the Department of Humanities, Alfredo De Dominicis, publisher, Davide Speranza, storyteller, and the authors Franz Cerami, artist and teacher, and Vincenzo Del Monaco, diplomat and former Italian ambassador to Armenia.
Statements by the Director of the Department, Paola Villani
"The University has participated in a major international project that finds in this book-dialogue a synthesis but also an in-depth analysis. The meeting between Cerami and Del Monaco is significant, enriching the educational path of our students of Cultural Heritage Sciences", declared Paola Villani.
Vincenzo Del Monaco
Del Monaco said: “The presentation of this book in Naples is a significant milestone, but also the beginning of a new chapter. It is symbolic that the roots of 'Armenian Letters' are in Yerevan and that it is now being presented here, a city linked to the Armenian heritage.”
Franz Cerami
“For me, this book is a travel diary, a sketchbook of my experiences in Yerevan. Together with Del Monaco, we embarked on a similar journey of discovery, full of listening and extraordinary encounters,” said Franz Cerami.

The event seems interesting and useful for students, but I don't know if there will be a lot of people, maybe the theme of art and diplomacy doesn't attract the young audience. Let's hope it will be a good success in the end.
