Marcianise. Professional scammers try to trick Mayor Antonio Trombetta by pretending to be a bank. “This morning I received a message, apparently from my bank, asking for confirmation of a spending transaction I activated for over 6000 euros.
I called the phone number but there was no answer. I then contacted the bank, but no one knew anything about it, so they warned me about a possible scam attempt,” said Mayor Antonio Trombetta.

“And in fact, immediately after, a guy calls me from that number, with a formal, professional, authoritative voice, telling me that he is part of my bank's anti-fraud unit and asking me to confirm my willingness to purchase cryptocurrency. When I refuse, he asks me to provide my account details. If you are from the bank, you should know, I reply.
Then the guy, annoyed, warns me that there is an attempted scam that the police are investigating! Well, have the police summon me then, I will make the argument. And he hangs up. Obviously I contacted the police, providing the telephone number used. It seems to be a completely new scam method, so I described it. Let's be careful.”
