The musical festival Racconti al femminile will take place from December 23 to 30 at the Monumental Complex of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples. This second edition celebrates the talent of women in the world of music through the performances of seven international and national artists.

Among the protagonists are Lina Sastri, Patrizia Laquidara, the Ebbanesis, Fatoumata Diawara, Wallis Bird, Andrea Motis and Marina Rei, each with her own unique style that ranges from world music to jazz.

Celebrating Women's Music

The event pays homage to female artistic creativity, highlighting the importance of women's contribution to contemporary music. The evenings will offer a journey through different sounds, allowing the audience to explore perspectives united by a common message of sharing and empathy. These performances not only celebrate individual talents, but also enhance the cultural heritage of Naples, which has always been a hotbed of artistic rebirth.

Program of the shows

Lina Sastri will open the festival on December 23rd with "Voce 'e Notte," a blend of music and theater exploring Neapolitan culture. On December 26th, Patrizia Laquidara will perform with Ebbanesis in a show blending Italian and Neapolitan traditions. This will be followed by the African rhythms of Fatoumata Diawara on December 27th, the intense music of Wallis Bird on December 28th, the sophisticated jazz of Andrea Motis on December 29th, and the musical experimentation of Marina Rei on December 30th.

An invitation to cultural dialogue

This festival is not just an artistic event, but a message of inclusion, highlighting the importance of female artistic expression. The initiative is part of the broader "Naples, City of Music" project and takes place in an ideal historical setting: the Monumental Complex of San Domenico Maggiore, which has hosted cultural events in the ancient heart of the city for time immemorial.

The event seems very interesting but I don't know if I will be able to go because I have other commitments. I hope that there will be many people who will participate and maybe make their experiences heard about female music in this context.
