Aversa. As part of a targeted intervention plan arranged by the Provincial Command of Caserta, aimed at ensuring adequate protection for consumers and compliance with the regulations on "product safety", the "Green Berets" of the Aversa Emergency Response Company have intensified controls aimed at preventing and combating the trade of products potentially dangerous to the health of consumers, seizing over 26 thousand products, including toys and cosmetics, counterfeit or without the CE mark and harmful to health.

The intelligence activity carried out by the Yellow Flames, also thanks to the assistance of the IT tools used by the Corps and the information elements acquired in carrying out the daily economic control activity of the territory, led in particular to the seizure of over 24 thousand counterfeit toys or toys without the CE marking (“European Conformity” – declaration of conformity which indicates that the product complies with the Community provisions that provide for its use), illegally placed on sale.

Furthermore, 1.769 skin care products, ready for sale, were seized in several commercial establishments in the district. They were dangerous to health because they contained a substance called “Butylphenyl Methylpropional” (more commonly known as “Lilial”), a synthetic fragrance used to prepare personal care and hygiene products, which has been banned since 1 March 2022 following the update, at EU level, of the list of substances considered “Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, toxic for Reproduction” (so-called CMR substances).

The activity carried out by the military personnel of the Aversa Emergency Response Company is part of the broader action conducted by the Corps to protect the health and safety of the community: combating the spread of counterfeit products that do not comply with safety standards means contributing to ensuring effective consumer protection and a competitive market, in which honest economic operators can benefit from fair competition conditions.

Riots on the pitch, threats, and assaults during a Promozione match in the Caserta area. Months after the incident, Caserta Police Chief Andrea Grassi issued two bans (daspo) for a total of three years against two managers of ASD Casapesenna Calcio, deemed responsible for serious conduct that compromised public order.

The incidents date back to last fall, during the match between ASD Casapesenna and Città di Brusciano, played at the Graziano Papa Stadium in Succivo. During the first half, one of the officials was sent off from the bench for repeated protests and insults directed at the refereeing team. Despite being sent off, the man allegedly entered the pitch, threatening and insulting a photographer from the visiting team, even slapping and punching him.

It is important that there are controls for products, but I wonder if these seizures are really effective in the long term. Many consumers do not even know what CE marks are and this could cause confusion.
