Assad (who is currently in Russia) was deposed a week ago and the excitement in the streets of Damascus over the overthrow of the regime, brought about by the initiative of the radical Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), has subsided.
Schools and universities have reopened. The former have recorded an attendance rate of 30%, in the latter for now only the administrative staff has been seen, given that the vast majority of students come from other provinces.
This return to normality is also demonstrated by the reopening of offices, shops, businesses and street vendors. In all this, unfortunately, the population continues to have to suffer repeated daily power cuts that are extremely impactful.

It is interesting to see how the situation in Damascus has evolved since the fall of Assad. However, I wonder if this normality has really been achieved, since power cuts are a serious problem for everyone.
