New developments in the Salerno Prosecutor's Office's investigation into a nursing home in the city, already at the center of an investigation on October 29th that led to ten precautionary measures for kidnapping and mistreatment of elderly residents. This time, the preliminary investigations judge has ordered the arrest of three new suspects: the facility's manager, the director, and the support administrator.

The three are accused of corruption, embezzlement and defrauding an incapacitated person to the detriment of an elderly guest of the facility, an 86-year-old woman, wealthy but in fragile conditions. According to the prosecution, they allegedly exploited the vulnerability of the elderly woman to take possession of her assets. In particular, the manager allegedly had himself named heir to the woman's assets, while sums of money were withdrawn from her assets at the rate of 300 euros per month. Furthermore, the monthly fee, officially set at 1.800 euros, was inflated with undue transfers of 2.000 euros.

The support administrator allegedly played a central role in the affair: instead of protecting the 86-year-old's interests, she allegedly collaborated with the administrator, promising to draft a false report certifying the woman's independence in order to have her appointment revoked. In exchange, she allegedly received the promise of a significant portion of the victim's assets.

The charges add to an already very serious picture, shedding new light on what happened in the Salerno facility. The investigations by the Carabinieri of Nas continue to clarify further responsibilities.
