Despite the complaints and the constant presence of NapoliPark operators, the illegal parking attendants of Santa Lucia continue to rage, resorting to increasingly violent and intimidating methods.
The latest episode occurred yesterday evening during an inspection by the deputy of the Green Left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli. The MP was documenting the illegal activity of the parking attendants when one of them, noticing his presence, fled. While Borrelli tried to chase him, a second individual, hooded and on a scooter, violently pushed him. The aggressor then made explicit threats to a traffic warden to tell him not to interfere with his illegal activities. "If you love your family, get out of here," declared the illegal parking attendant.
“There are five illegal parking attendants operating here that we have been monitoring for some time,” Borrelli explained. “Their modus operandi is increasingly aggressive because, thanks to our presence and the controls of the auxiliaries, they are losing money. The hooded man who attacked me and threatened the auxiliary is particularly dangerous and must be stopped. The recent episodes demonstrate that drastic interventions are needed to eradicate this phenomenon.”
Borrelli also stressed the urgency of new specific regulations to combat the racket of illegal parking attendants. “While the government majority continues to ignore the problem, we will not give a break to these individuals who have stolen Naples from honest citizens for too long,” he concluded.
