Everything was ready, even a handwritten note, a prelude to an extreme gesture. It happened on the evening of December 24 in a town on the outskirts of Avellino, where a 70-year-old woman, exhausted by yet another argument with her husband, had expressed her intention to take her own life.

The family members understood the gravity of the situation and did not hesitate to contact the emergency number "112".

Thanks to the dialogue and sensitivity of the military, the woman was convinced to desist from her intention. She was subsequently examined by the health personnel of “118” and entrusted to the care of one of her children.
