Naples. A new chapter opens in the mysterious murder of engineer Salvatore Coppola, shot to death last March in the San Giovanni a Teduccio neighborhood, a short distance from his office.
Gennaro Petrucci, a 73-year-old believed by the Prosecutor's Office to be the instigator of the attack, surprised everyone by cooperating with the justice system. The news rocked the ongoing Assize Court trial, forcing Petrucci to dismiss his lawyer.
According to investigations, the engineer was allegedly eliminated over a matter related to a luxury villa in Portici, in exchange for a hefty €20 reward. The 64-year-old was said to have pulled the trigger. Mario DeSimone, already arrested and considered the material perpetrator of the murder.
