An illegal broadcasting station that distributed copyrighted content, including television schedules, TV series and other content from the main streaming platforms, was discovered and dismantled by the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, in collaboration with the Special Unit for the Protection of Privacy and Technological Fraud of Rome. The operation, coordinated by the Naples Prosecutor's Office, revealed an organized criminal system that also profited from the distribution of child pornography through a dedicated chat.

The investigations, conducted under the supervision of the deputy prosecutor Silvio Pavia and the additional prosecutor Alessandro Milita, allowed to identify the promoter of the criminal association, who managed both the illegal IPTV platform and a system for the distribution of child pornography content via WhatsApp.

The organization, active for at least four years, offered memberships at rock-bottom prices: 10 euros a month or 80 euros a year.

With this strategy, he attracted thousands of users, amassing profits of over €850. Some of the payments were made to Italian and foreign bank accounts, while approximately 2.000 customers had deposited in cryptocurrencies, now blocked in 64 digital wallets seized during the operation.

Arrests and seized material: thousands of users fined

Three people have been reached by precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge: the promoter of the system was arrested and transferred to prison, while two accomplices are subject to the obligation to report daily to the judicial police. During the search of the home of the head of the organization, the financial police found approximately 1.600 child pornography contents ready for sale.

Authorities have identified around 6.000 private users of the illegal IPTV service, who now face administrative fines ranging from 150 to 5.000 euros. The system allowed users to access pirated content by paying via bank transfers or cryptocurrencies.

The investigation demonstrates how advanced technologies can be used for illicit purposes, but also how modern countermeasures, such as the analysis of digital flows and the tracking of cryptocurrency payments, can lead to the dismantling of criminal organizations.

and it's a really bad situation, I'm surprised that there are still people doing this stuff. The fact that child pornography content was found is alarming and must be stopped. I don't know how that's possible.
