The recovery of Ottavia Piana, the speleologist injured Saturday evening in the Bueno Fonteno cave in Bergamo, has taken a significant step. The stretcher on which she is positioned has passed the first half of the cavity.
Once the narrowest stretch has been passed
According to Adnkronos, "the narrowest section of the cave, one of the most difficult obstacles, has finally been overcome, thanks in part to meticulous widening work." However, "the finish line is still far away": the remaining route, although more straightforward, is long and arduous. Rescuers are working non-stop, and "everything suggests that operations will continue throughout the night, likely into the night between Tuesday and Wednesday."
Conditions of Ottavia Piana
Ottavia 'is alert and cooperating with the rescuers, but she is exhausted from the more than 48 hours spent underground'.

I have been following Ottavia Piana's situation closely and I think that the rescuers are doing a great job. Even though the narrowest stretch has been overcome, the road is long and difficult. I hope that it can be recovered soon.
