A 22-year-old man, already known to the police, was arrested by the Carabinieri of Sant'Arpino after being found in possession of drugs hidden even in a stuffed toy.
The arrest occurred during a routine check in via De Gasperi, where the boy was in the company of an 18-year-old Orta di Atella. Both showed signs of impatience, prompting the military to proceed with a personal search. In the 22-year-old's cigarette pack, three sticks of hashish (6,6 grams) and a small bag of cocaine were found, which the young man attempted to justify as intended for personal use.
The discrepancies in his statements and the quantity of the substances prompted the Carabinieri to search the detainee's home. In the bedroom, inside a desk drawer, they found 16,6 grams of hashish, an additional 6,6 grams of cocaine, two drug-stained precision scales and 700 euros in small denomination banknotes, believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity.

The attempt at misdirection
While being held at the barracks, the 22-year-old asked to contact his lawyer, but instead sent a message to his grandmother, inviting her to get rid of a stuffed toy containing more drugs. The behavior did not go unnoticed by the soldiers, who went to the house again.
Cornered, the old woman pointed to a gutter where she had hidden the stuffed toy. Inside, the Carabinieri found 42 grams of marijuana. The young man was placed under house arrest pending further proceedings.
