The Madrearte Theater in Villaricca's season is enriched with the premiere of the musical comedy "In Viaggio di Noce." Scheduled for December 27, 28, and 29, 2024, and subsequently on January 3, 4, and 5, 2025, the show recounts the unprecedented journey of a newlywed couple from northern Italy. Their journey will take them from Naples to Africa, with stops in America, Japan, and France.
Acting Challenge and Cast
The performance was conceived and directed by Antonio Diana, who together with the actors Antonio Dell'Isola and Angela Panico and the dancers Francesco Garzia and Marialuisa D'Alesio, brings a variety of characters to the stage. The young spouses, Kikko and Laury, confront a sequence of eccentric characters who share a strong Neapolitanness. This element becomes the ground of continuous jokes for the Lombard bride, who finds herself wanting to anticipate her departure from every place visited.
Interactive experience
The performance includes interactive elements that involve the audience, dragging them into scenes from a typical alley in Naples to an American dinner show. Among the various stops, it also explores Japanese Noh theater, French street art, and the Gerewol ritual of Central Africa. “In viaggio di nozze” represents an artistic celebration at the beating heart of the Madrearte theater. On stage, in addition to the artistic director Diana, actors who are also part of the teaching staff of the theater workshops participate, combining the performance with an educational and community element through this production defined as “panettone theater”.
