AMOROSI (BN) – A 44-year-old worker was reported by Carabinieri officers at the Amorosi station after being caught attempting to steal an iron pallet from a local business. According to reports, the man, a local resident, took advantage of a moment of unguarded surveillance to load the pallet into a van, driven by an accomplice, who was waiting near the facility.
However, the suspicious movement did not escape a company manager, who immediately alerted the police and confronted the worker. Discovered, the 44-year-old gave up the theft, while the accomplice fled aboard the van and disappeared without a trace.
When asked for an explanation, the worker attempted to justify himself by claiming he believed the pallet had been abandoned, but the investigation revealed that the material was legally owned by the company. The pallet was returned to its rightful owners, while the worker was reported at large for attempted theft. Carabinieri investigations continue to identify the accomplice on the run.

This article is very interesting but a bit confusing. I don't understand how a worker can think that a pallet is abandoned, since companies usually do not leave stuff on the street. Maybe we need to be more careful.
