The Avellino Court, presided over by Roberto Melone, accepted the arguments of Attorney Vittorio Fucci and released Concetta Esposito, 29, from Cervinara, accused of attempted murder along with Giuseppe Luciano, defended by Attorney Teresa Meccariello.

The two were arrested on the night between June 2nd and 3rd, when they went to the home of some people in Rotondi, where, following a financial dispute, they allegedly stabbed two individuals. Mario Esposito was struck in the abdomen and Francesco Leonetti in the chest with life-threatening injuries; the latter remained in critical condition for several days.

According to the doctors, a centimeter difference in the trajectory of the shot could have caused Leonetti's death. After hiding, the defendants turned themselves in to the Carabinieri in cervinara, with Esposito handing over the bloody knife, admitting that she was the one who hit the victims, while Luciano declared that he was not involved in the facts.

Furthermore, Esposito was accused of attempting to prevent the victims' escape by blocking their exit with a stick. Luciano is currently being held in the Belizzi Irpino prison, while Esposito was under house arrest until today, when the court decided to release her, imposing a mandatory residence order.

The Court's decision seems a bit strange to me, because if she stabbed two people she should be punished severely. I don't understand how she can be released from prison after such a serious crime. Let's hope that justice works.
