A thirty-nine-year-old Avellino fan was arrested by the Digos (Italian Special Operations Division) on charges of pitch invasion, climbing over, and throwing dangerous materials during the match against Team Altamura on December 13th. The match took place at the D'Angelo Stadium in Altamura, where the man committed the act that led to his arrest.
The arrest was made using the “deferred flagrance”, a procedure that allows preventive measures to be taken within 48 hours of the incident, based on concrete evidence, including images from surveillance cameras. Thanks to this system, the police were able to quickly identify the responsible fan.

Yesterday morning, the Digos agents of Avellino and Bari carried out a search of the fan. The man, who is now under house arrest, will appear tomorrow morning before the GIP of the Court of Avellino for the arrest validation hearing. His behavior risks landing him on a series of serious charges, with the potential for severe penalties for endangering public safety during the sporting event.
