The story began when the victim received a sms apparently sent by the company that runs his credit card, with a message reporting a supposed problem with the account. Worried, the woman clicked on the link contained in the message, thus starting the fraudulent mechanism.
Immediately afterwards, the doctor was contacted by telephone by a so-called operator, who informed her that she had been scammed.
