The Carabinieri's awareness campaign is working, even in churches and community centers, to combat the phenomenon of scams against elderly people. Three women from Grottaminarda, in the province of Avellino, between the ages of 70 and 90, did not fall into the trap of fake couriers who were supposed to deliver a package intended for their relatives.
Having received the phone calls with the request to prepare the money, they immediately notified the Carabinieri of the local station who started the investigations aimed at identifying the scammers.
