A dark day for Trasnova workers. This morning, the company began collective dismissal proceedings, marking the end of a dispute that the Naples branch of the FIOM (Italian General Confederation of Workers) has called "a slump." "unacceptable". Mauro Cristiani, general secretary of Fiom Napoli, and Mario Di Costanzo, head of the automotive sector, who also point the finger at Stellantis, denounce the situation.
“Stellantis' willingness to reopen the discussion appears false – explain the unionists – because reiterating the willingness to discuss with Trasnova but confirming the end of the contract with the company is an oxymoron”. In this dramatic context, a positive note arrives: the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (MIMIT) has decided to bring forward the meeting scheduled to discuss the dispute to December 10th.
However, Fiom is asking for a strong signal: "That table must be chaired by Minister Urso. On November 4, during question time at the Chamber, the minister declared that Stellantis was available to evaluate immediate solutions. Now we want to know what concrete answers MIMIT has identified with the French multinational to avoid the dismissal of even a single worker of the Transnova. "

It is very sad that there are layoffs for Trasnova workers. I hope that MIMIT takes the situation seriously and does something concrete to resolve this dispute. The unionists are right.
