The vast video surveillance program prepared by the Municipality of Caserta continues, which includes the installation of approximately 200 cameras throughout the city. Thanks to the projects implemented by the Administration.
In fact, technological tools will be used to prevent and control the phenomenon of movida, to monitor traffic flows, with license plate reading systems capable of identifying vehicles without insurance or testing, to combat the phenomenon of waste abandonment and to identify, even in the dark, individuals intent on committing criminal acts.
The recordings will be made available to the police authorities immediately and, subsequently, the system will be directly connected to the police forces.
A project of great importance, and in full swing, is the one carried out by the company that is the concessionaire of the public lighting service. 12 cameras have already been installed at the Belvedere of San Leucio and in the coming weeks they will continue in the hamlets of San Leucio, Briano and Vaccheria. In fact, by the end of the year, the restoration of 24 electronic observation points is planned that will guarantee the control of the city territory, starting from these historic places.
San Leucio, Briano and Vaccheria, then, are also included in the project that will guarantee the control and surveillance of the buffer zones around the UNESCO sites (Reggia and Belvedere) and in the medieval village of Casertavecchia, or in those places where there are tourist flows.
"For San Leucio, Briano and Vaccheria - explained the local councilor delegate, Donato Tenga - we are giving the highest priority, with the aim of guaranteeing full security to the entire area, which in recent months has been affected by burglaries in apartments and to the detriment of some commercial establishments. The cameras represent a fundamental tool for the prevention and fight against criminal phenomena and the Administration is making the maximum effort to set up an organic and efficient video surveillance system.
Furthermore, institutional discussions have been initiated with the Prefecture and the police to carry out more frequent evening and night-time checks in Briano, Sala, San Leucio and Vaccheria, in order to guarantee the safety of both citizens and commercial activities".
Another project in the field is the one being carried out by the company that is the concessionaire of the mobility service in the city, which has already presented a timetable according to which, within a week, the installation of 22 cameras will begin.
They will be positioned at the entrance and exit of Viale Lincoln, Viale Carlo III di Borbone, Viale Douhet, Via Cappuccini, Viale dei Bersaglieri, Via De Falco, Via Marchesiello, Via Ruta, Via Madre Teresa di Calcutta, at the entrance of Via S. Commaia, at the exit point of Via Camusso, at Via Amendola (intersection with Via Tescione), and near the “Tredici – San Clemente” exit of the Anas Variante.
The Municipality then received additional resources for video surveillance through two projects, implemented in synergy with the Prefecture and financed with funds from the Ministry of the Interior.
The video surveillance system developed by the Municipality of Caserta, finally, it will also integrate what the Asi Consortium will install, starting from mid-December, in the area between via Edison, viale delle Industrie and the ex Saint Gobain area as well as in the Ponteselice area.
