Villaricca: A 40-year-old man, out of breath, showed up at the police station and reported that, after having a coffee at a bar in Villaricca, he found the right rear window of his car smashed. The car had been broken into, and his backpack was missing, containing payment cards, an iPhone, and AirPods.
After the complaint, the Carabinieri of the Qualiano Station immediately took action, reached the bar and examined the cameras. They saw an individual in dark clothes getting out of a Ford C-Max driven by an accomplice.
The search for the car was launched. At the same time, thanks to the cooperation of the complainant, who provided his credit card details, they discovered that the thieves were using his savings at a cash-and-carry store on Via San Francesco a Patria. The Carabinieri rushed there, noticed the car used in the theft, and observed two young men loading the newly purchased goods.
They stopped them, searched them, and found both the stolen goods and burglary tools. The stolen goods were returned to the victim, while a screwdriver and a drill bit were seized. Cousins Nek and Costantino Adzovic, aged 19 and 20 respectively, already known to law enforcement and residents of the Roma settlement in Giugliano in Campania, were arrested for car theft and unauthorized use of payment instruments. They are now awaiting a summary trial.
