A serious accident occurred on the Statale Ofantina bis, in the province of Avellino, where a truck used for transporting milk hit a group of wild boars. In the episode, which occurred late yesterday evening near the junction for Cairano, eleven animals were killed.
The driver of the truck, suddenly finding himself in front of the animals, could not avoid the impact, which was very violent. Following the accident, the Carabinieri and the ASL staff intervened, engaged in the operations to secure the road, a procedure that took several hours.The truck suffered significant damage to its bodywork.
Another accident in the area: a wolf was hit
In the same province, on State Road 7, in the area of the municipality of Cona della Campania, another accident involving wildlife was recorded. A two-year-old wolf was hit and killed while chasing a pack of wild boars.
