Afragola. This morning, in front of the town hall in Piazza Municipio, a citizen, exasperated by the numerous acts of vandalism and arson attacks on his home, committed a desperate act. He chained himself to the outside of the municipal building, threatening to set himself on fire with a gasoline bottle.
The agents of the Local Police, led by Colonel Antonio Piricelli, rushed to the scene and were able to quickly remove the bottle of gasoline and free the citizen from the chain, preventing a potential tragedy. The rapid and determined action of the police forces prevented the man from completing his intent, thus safeguarding his safety and that of those present.
The gesture, which arose from frustration over repeated injuries suffered at the hands of unknown perpetrators, highlighted a situation of growing personal tension and mobilized local authorities.
