Battipaglia Hospital Attack: Nurse Beaten by Patient's Aunt

New episode of violence at the hospital Santa Maria della Speranza of Battipaglia, where the health personnel continues to operate in a climate of growing tension: on Monday, around 13:40 pm, a nurse in the Pediatrics department was attacked by the aunt of a young patient, who insulted her and pushed her until she fell to the ground.

The woman allegedly reacted violently after a blood test that, according to her, had caused pain to the child. The victim, a 50-year-old professional, suffered bruises that doctors at the hospital deemed curable in a day. Emergency room. Immediately after the attack, he filed a complaint with the State Police detachment present at the hospital, starting the investigation.

The agents of the local police station, led by the deputy commissioner Giuseppe Fedele, are evaluating the hypothesis of the crime of personal injury, with the possibility of also contesting resistance to a public official e interruption of public service, as provided for by recent rulings of the Court of Cassation.

A hospital increasingly at risk

The episode is not isolated. On the same day, in the evening, a 48-year-old woman, already known to the police, was caught illegally selling objects in the hospital wards and was removed by the officers.
