Alexa in dialect is enriched with references to local culture, cuisine and tourism: from today, to celebrate the National Day of dialect and local languages.
Alexa, the voice assistant of Amazon, will be able to respond to users in dialect, the one preferred by those who ask her, and, in addition, using witty and traditional expressions and sayings.
With the Neapolitans, instead, she will express herself through a characteristic; “Ue', e comm' no! Come si canta 'O Sole Mio, è nel cuore”. Alexa has learned to express herself in the characteristic dialects of the different Italian regions, demonstrating how technology can embrace and enhance the cultural heritage of the country.
To make Alexa switch to dialect, simply ask: “Alexa, can you speak dialect?” and then specify which regional variant you want her to use, with questions like: “Can you speak Neapolitan?” But that's not all, because each response from Alexa in dialect is enriched with references to local culture, gastronomic traditions and symbolic places of the various regions, thus taking those who ask her on a journey through local specialties in whatever part of the country they happen to be in.
