The Amerigo Vespucci, the famous training ship of the Italian Navy, is preparing to return to the waters of the Mediterranean after completing the 33rd stop of its world tour in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
A journey that began on July 1, 2023, and will culminate on June 10 in Genoa, during Navy Day.
The return to Italy represents, according to the Minister of Defense Guido Crosettoa whirlpool bath, “new page” of this extraordinary journey. This itinerant space, heir to the “Villaggio Italia” that accompanied the sailing ship during the international tour, will celebrate the two years of navigation of the “most beautiful ship in the world”.

An awaited event, between celebrations and a fast pace
Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Enrico Credendino called the world tour an "extraordinary undertaking," while Luca Andreoli, CEO of Difesa Servizi, anticipated that the Mediterranean Tour will be intense, with stops concentrated between March 1 and June 10. The first stop will be Trieste, where the Vespucci will be the protagonist of a special edition of the Barcolana.
The next stops include Venice, Ancona, Brindisi, Palermo, Naples, Cagliari and many others, until the closing in Genoa. In the meantime, on February 22, the ship will celebrate 94 years of history and will also be a special guest at the Sanremo Festival, as announced by the host Carlo Conti.
An appointment, that of the return of the Amerigo Vespucci, which promises to be a hymn to Italian beauty, tradition and excellence, testifying to the prestige of a ship that is a symbol of the country.
