An apparently unprovoked attack has rocked the Naples neighborhood, specifically on Via Bologna, a side street off Piazza Garibaldi. The incident occurred this morning, when a 70-year-old man was brutally attacked by another individual while casually strolling.
The aggression
According to initial reports, the victim was walking around 9:30 when he was attacked by a 31-year-old man of Cameroonian origin who, armed with a stick, began to beat him, hitting him on the head. The episode, described as an unexpected attack, occurred without any apparent motivation, leaving passers-by and the authorities shocked.
Police intervention
Immediately alerted, the State Police officers promptly intervened on the scene, managing to block the attacker. The 31-year-old was subsequently arrested on charges of attempted murder.
