Caserta. The well-known accountant and auditor Raffaele C., 62, was acquitted of the charges of obstruction of justice in an aggravated form. The sentence was issued by the Judge of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Dr. Massimo Cosenza, who accepted the arguments of the defense, represented by the lawyers Gaetano and Raffaele Crisileo and Gaetano Petrone.

The accusation, formulated by the Public Prosecutor of the local Prosecutor's Office, Dr. Sergio Occhionero, was based on an episode dating back to the end of 2016. According to the prosecution's reconstruction, Raffaele C. allegedly tried to influence a witness in a civil proceeding against him, approaching him in the courtroom and addressing him with threatening phrases such as: "What are you doing here, why did you come? So you don't understand who I am?".

The case, which had cast a shadow over the career of the accountant known throughout the province for his top roles in important institutions and companies, ended with a full acquittal. The judge considered the defense's arguments to be well-founded, thus putting an end to a complex legal case that lasted over seven years.

The acquittal represents an important recognition for the defense of Raffaele C., who sees his name rehabilitated after a long and delicate trial process.

It was a very complicated case and the judge's decisions seemed to have followed the defense's arguments well. It's strange how some cases can last so long without a clear conclusion. Justice in Italy is often not fast.
