The Naples Prosecutor's Office has requested the indictment of a 61-year-old woman accused of stalking the mayor of Portici, Vincenzo Cuomo.
For about two years, the woman allegedly harassed the mayor with constant requests, appearing both at the town hall and at his home.
According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, the suspect repeatedly called the mayor's office, threatening to block his work and explicitly stating: "I'll keep calling, even at night. I need a job... to stop me, all you have to do is arrest me."
Among the incidents at the center of the investigation was an attempted rapprochement with Cuomo during a rally on September 20, 2020, attended by the then secretary of the Democratic Party, Enrico Letta. The woman he allegedly tried to get on stage, forcing security, to speak to the mayor and ask him for a refund of 30 euros spent on a taxi.
The investigation, based on three complaints filed by the mayor, led the Prosecutor's Office to charge the woman with stalking. The judge's decision on whether to proceed to trial is now pending.

It is a very strange case, I do not understand why a woman behaves in this way towards a mayor. Maybe there are reasons that we do not know. I hope that justice takes its course in the right way.
