The Chief of Police, Vittorio Pisani, expressed his gratitude to the police officers on duty on New Year's Eve, highlighting their fundamental role in the safety of Italian cities, squares and tourist destinations. During a radio and video link from the operations room of the Naples police headquarters, Pisani interacted with the operations rooms of the Police Headquarters, the Departments of the Highway and Railway Police, and the National Anti-Cybercrime Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure (Cnaipic).
In his speech, the prefect thanked the State Police personnel for the professionalism and dedication shown in the past year. “Pisani’s wish is to continue on the same path with the passion and enthusiasm that have never been lacking and that must continue to accompany every police officer in the new year.”
Pisani also highlighted the commitment of the Police Forces in public order services, which involved over 900 thousand men. He noted that only 3% of the demonstrations had incidents, with 240 police officers injured, some seriously. Finally, he underlined the importance of the Operations Rooms as a point of reference for citizens and for the effectiveness and speed of the services provided.

It is important that the Chief of Police spoke so highly of the police officers, but perhaps he should also pay more attention to those who work in other areas. There are many services and all must be appreciated.
I agree with you, Ariel. It is right to value the work of everyone, not just the Police. Security is a collective task that involves many people and different professions in our country.
I noticed that there were many accidents even though the number seems low. We must always remember that every injured person is a person and their safety is paramount during these important occasions.
