Acquitted for not having committed the crime: the case was concluded after six years, in the Assize Court of avellino, the trial against the administrator of a retirement home, two nurses and a doctor.
They were all accused of failing to provide care and assistance to an elderly resident who died on May 29, 2018, three days after being admitted to the hospital. The complaint was filed by her family for abandonment of an incapacitated person.

The prosecutor, Luigi Iglio, had requested—in addition to the acquittal of Dr. Rossella Baldassarre—a nine-month sentence for the administrator and director of the nursing home in Montefalcione, Walter Vassallo, and the two nurses, Simona Puzo and Angela De Angelis, for "failing to adequately consider the patient's bedridden condition," who had bedsores, malnutrition, and skin inelasticity.
The acquittal, for not having committed the crime, was pronounced in the afternoon by the president of the panel, Gian Piero Scarlato.

It is strange that after six years of trials, everyone was acquitted. Perhaps there should have been more attention to the care given to the elderly. I hope that in the future there will be fewer similar cases in nursing homes.
