An oak forest felled in an area subject to landscape restrictions: this is what was discovered by the Carabinieri of the Serino Forestry Unit, who reported the landowner.
The investigations, conducted by the military, revealed that in the municipality of Santo Stefano del Sole, on a property located in a restricted area, the suppression of a coppice of oaks had been carried out. According to what emerged, the intervention was carried out with mechanical means, which felled and uprooted numerous plants without the necessary authorization titles.
The entire area involved, covering approximately 1.500 square meters, was placed under seizure. The owner of the land, held responsible for the destruction and defacement of natural beauty, was reported at large to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Avellino.
The operation is part of the activities for the protection of the landscape and environmental heritage carried out by the Carabinieri Forestry, with the aim of countering abuses and unauthorized interventions that compromise the territory.
