Avellino, drug dealing square: investigations closed for 20 people

The public prosecutor Luigi Iglio has closed the investigation into the inquiry conducted by the Carabinieri of the Operational Nucleus of the Avellino Company that on October 30th had led to the notification of sixteen precautionary measures against as many alleged drug dealers. The prosecution is also preparing to request the trial of the suspects, who rise to twenty.

Nine suspects placed under house arrest: MB, ADN, GS, MP, GL, MM, LP, EH and BC Three suspects with the obligation to report to the judicial police: RSM, WMS, EMTree suspects with the obligation to remain at home: MV, FVM, DZ,

Three suspects are at large: SR, FS, HR, reached by the notice of closure of the investigation. Two positions are still being examined by the investigators.

the twenty are accused of drug dealing. The contested facts date back to October 2021 for the sale of cocaine, hashish, heroin and in some cases even “methadone” delivered to the Serd of Avellino and sold to other drug addicts. The drugs to the various squares in the city arrived from Scampia.

The square where they deal was created near the Ponte della Ferriera, behind the former Mercatone, but also a few steps from the Municipality of Avellino. In trouble ended up, traders, entrepreneurs, but also other unsuspected professionals.

Thanks to seizures, technical observations, some cameras placed by the Carabinieri and wiretaps, it was possible to reconstruct the entire network that operated in the city territory. After the twenty days granted to the suspects to present defense briefs or ask to be heard, the public prosecutor can request that they be sent for trial.
