Avellino – The moment of truth is approaching for the disappearance of Domenico Manzo, the 69-year-old who vanished into thin air on the evening of January 8, 2021 in Prata Principato Ultra. The Avellino Prosecutor's Office has closed the investigation, notifying notices of investigation to three people: his daughter Romina, accused of aiding and abetting, and the couple formed by Alfonso Russo and Loredana Scannelli, investigated for kidnapping and obstruction of justice.
According to investigators, the argument that occurred during his daughter's birthday party triggered a tragic chain of events. Manzo left the house and never returned. The investigation, coordinated by chief prosecutor Domenico Airoma and entrusted to prosecutor Lorenza Redano, focused on the victim's family and friends.
His daughter Romina, initially considered a witness, ended up in the register of suspects for having provided investigators with false information. Even more serious is the position of Russo and Scannelli, considered responsible for the kidnapping of Manzo and for a complex strategy to mislead the investigation.

In the next twenty days, the suspects will be able to present defense briefs or ask to be questioned. Afterwards, the Prosecutor's Office will ask the preliminary investigations judge to send them to trial.
