Final Stages and Masterclasses
The final stages of the competition will be held at the Cimarosa theater in Aversa on October 24 and 25. Before the final performances, on October 23, a masterclass dedicated to songwriting will be held, available to the finalists and open to the public. The artistic direction of the event is entrusted to Ferruccio Spinetti.
Juries and Awards
The participants will be selected by a Guarantee Committee, composed of illustrious figures from the music world, including singers, authors, industry professionals and journalists. Many of them will be part of both the general jury and the critics' jury, which will be responsible for awarding the respective prizes during the final evenings. The overall winner will receive a scholarship of €1.000, while the winner of the "Fausto Mesolella" Critics' Award will receive a scholarship of €800. Additional awards include prizes for best text, best music and best interpretation, among others. These prizes are supported by various organizations linked to the d'Aponte Prize. In the most recent edition, held in October 2024, Valentina Lupi won the main prize, together with the ex aequo assignment with Irene Di Brino of the Fausto Mesolella Critics' Award, presented by Margherita Vicario, godmother of last year. The award is also an opportunity for the finalists to interact during the days of the event with important exponents of Italian music, such as professionals, journalists and artists.
Every year the Award hosts a very popular singer-songwriter who takes on the role of godmother, with the task of performing a song by Bianca d'Aponte (the singer-songwriter to whom the event is dedicated) and presiding over the jury. To date, the following have taken turns: Arisa, Rachele Bastreghi (Baustelle), Rossana Casale, Chiara Civello, Ginevra di Marco, Grazia Di Michele, Cristina Donà, Irene Grandi, Elena Ledda, Petra Magoni, Andrea Mirò, Simona Molinari, Nada, Mariella Nava, Brunella Selo, Tosca, Paola Turci, Fausta Vetere, Margherita Vicario, Nina Zilli. In addition to them, there were many prestigious guests at the event, names such as Niccolò Fabi, Mauro Pagani, Diodato, Cristiano Godano, Mannarino, Peppino di Capri, Enzo Avitabile, Avion Travel, Teresa De Sio, Musica Nuda, Giovanni Truppi, Fausto Cigliano, Gnut, Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, Enzo Gragnaniello, Tricarico, Mauro Giovanardi, Raiz, Pacifico, Têtes de bois and many others.

The Bianca d'Aponte Award initiative seems very interesting and useful for female singer-songwriters. I wonder if there are particular selection criteria for the participants, because I would like to better understand how the process works.
