A road accident occurred in Benevento yesterday evening, around 18 pm, involving two elderly people: the victim is now hospitalized with critical illness at San Pio Hospital.
The 80-year-old man, a resident of Castelvetere in Val Fortore, was hit while crossing the pedestrian crossing on Via Almerico Meomartini, near the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
According to reconstructions, the vehicle involved, a Skoda Fabia, was driven by a man the same age as the man who was struck, originally from San Lorenzello. The impact caused the pedestrian to fall, hitting his head on the road.
The crew members of the 118They responded promptly, transporting the 80-year-old to the emergency room of the San Pio Hospital with a red code. The Municipal Police arrived at the scene of the accident to manage traffic and conduct the necessary investigations. The driver of the vehicle was subjected to the required legal measures: he was fined and his license was suspended, resulting in the seizure of the vehicle.
